KOMO News reports that the Seattle SuperHawks will honor Seattle SuperSonics legend Gary Payton with a “Gary Payton Appreciation Night” on Friday, May 3, 2024, during their game against the Emerald City Jaguars at Tacoma Community College. Payton, known for leading the Sonics to the 1996 NBA Finals, expressed excitement about reconnecting with fans and supporting The Basketball League’s mission to provide opportunities for aspiring players. He highlighted the importance of such platforms, citing his son Gary Payton II’s journey to an NBA championship with the Golden State Warriors in 2022.
